Firstly, I am going to begin with the research on general school magazines. Looking at how a variety are put together, what kind of message they convey, the layout, colours, text, everything that makes a magazine its own.
I have chosen this Pre-School magazine, as the innocence of this entire picture draws the reader in. It’s not a serious ‘school educated’ picture, instead it shows the arty, fun side that pre-school can actually behold. The way the little girl is looking upwards is almost portraying that she is ‘looking up’ to a teacher, a positive few words people use in day to day life. This is the type of magazine I would like to design, a positive, happy, welcoming and inviting cover. The bright, bold primary colours attracts the eye therefore, people are more inclined to read it. However, I wouldn’t use this picture for my school magazine as I don’t personally have anyone of this age to take pictures of.

This primary school picture shows the funny, creative aspect primary school can have, again its not a serious image but in fact children smiling, messing round and showing something that they have all made, something positive that they have achieved. The optimistic words on the front cover show the encouraging views of the primary school itself. Again the bright colours attract the reader therefore, that would most definitely be something I would include in my cover.
